Care of Wax Jackets.
Barbour wax jackets are coated with a synthetic oil on cotton fabric to provide resistance to wind and rain in winter. This wax provides resistance to wind and rain. Although this wax application protects you from harsh winter conditions, these conditions cause the wax to wear and lose its properties. Therefore, you should re-wax it with the intervals we use according to our frequency of use.
What Should I Do, What Should I Not Do?
- Never wash your jacket. If you wash the jacket, all the oil will be removed. In order for washed jackets to regain their former properties, double rewax is required. If you have washed your jacket, you should buy the double rewax service under the RE-WAX & REPAIR category.
- Never dry-clean your jacket. Dry cleaning will still have the same result and your jacket will be degreased.
- Do not iron your jacket. You may encounter unwanted questions as the iron will melt the wax.
- You can clean the inner lining of your jacket by wiping it with a soapy cloth.
- Do not store the jacket in humid and damp environments. Humidity and moisture can cause the oil to mold. Please contact us for any problems arising from the wax mold or storage conditions.
How can I rewax my jacket?
